The assessment date must be equal to or greater than the OneFile start date

Overview

This error appears when a user attempts to complete an assessment with a date that is earlier than the learner’s Onefile start date. The system prevents completion until the assessment date is corrected.

User Roles

This issue can be resolved by:

  • The user who started the assessment
  • Centre Manager

How to Resolve the Issue (Assessment Owner)

The user who originally started the assessment can update the date using the steps below:

  1. Open the Assessment.
  2. Change the Assessment Date to a date that is on or after the learner’s Onefile start date (shown in the error message).
  3. Click Save and Quit.
  4. Reopen the assessment.
  5. Check that the date has updated successfully.
  6. Complete the assessment.

How to Resolve the Issue (Centre Manager)

Centre Managers can override and resolve multiple affected assessments:

  1. Log in as a Centre Manager.
  2. Click the banner at the top of the page indicating there are date conflicts.

  3. Click Resolve next to each learner and assessment listed.

This will correct the date conflict and allow assessments to be signed.

Tips & Notes

  • The learner’s Onefile start date is set within their Episode — assessment dates cannot precede it.
  • If the banner does not appear, refresh the page or ensure you have Centre Manager permissions.
  • Historical assessments imported from other systems may require manual correction.
