Managing Group Permissions

Overview

Permissions allow Centre Managers to control how much access each user has within Onefile. These permissions can be applied individually or at the user‑group level to ensure consistent access across your Centre.

Group Permissions define the default permissions for all users belonging to a specific user group.

Who Can Use This Feature?

  • Centre Manager

Centre Settings

No additional centre settings are required to manage Group Permissions.

Steps to Set Default Permissions for a User Group

Step 1: Navigate to Group Permissions

  • Click Centre in the navigation menu.
  • Click Group Permissions.

Step 2: Select the User Group

  • Choose the user group from the drop‑down list.

Step 3: Set the Permissions

  • Choose to Inherit, Grant, or Deny each available permission.

Step 4: Save Your Changes

  • Click Save to apply the settings.

Available Options

  • Inherit – Uses the Effective System Setting specified by Onefile.
  • Grant – Always grants the permission for the selected user group.
  • Deny – Always denies the permission for the selected user group.

Permissions

The permissions you select will apply to all users in the chosen user group, unless a Centre Manager overrides them at the individual user level.

✅ Tip: Use Group Permissions to keep access consistent across your Centre, and override only when absolutely necessary for specific users.

Terminology

Please note that the terminology used in this article may vary depending on your Centre.
