Sampling an Assessment

Overview

The Sampling an Assessment feature allows Internal Quality Assurers (IQAs) to review, quality check, and verify assessments within a learner’s portfolio. Sampling helps ensure assessments meet awarding body requirements and follow internal quality processes.

Who Can Use This Feature?

  • Internal Quality Assurer (IQA)

Centre Settings

No additional centre settings are required to sample assessments.

Steps to Sample an Assessment

Step 1: Open the Learner’s Portfolio

Step 2: Access the Assessment

  • Scroll down to the Assessments section.
  • Click the Title or Reference of the assessment you want to sample.

Step 3: Select Sampled Criteria

  • Scroll to the Criteria section.
  • Tick the criteria you have sampled.

Step 4: Record the IQA Decision

  • Scroll to the Internal Verifier section.
  • Select Accept or Reject based on your sampling decision.

Step 5: Add Your Signature

  • Scroll to Declaration & Signatures.
  • Sign the assessment and click Save.

IQA Ready Assessments

Assessments that are ready for sampling are listed in the IV‑ready Assessments Report.

  • This report can be found on the IQA’s homepage.
  • It provides quick access to all assessments awaiting verification.

✅ Tip: Sampling little and often helps maintain consistent quality assurance and reduces backlog during peak verification periods.
