Consistency Rules

Overview

Consistency Rules define how many assessments a learner must complete at 100% accuracy for each learning aim. These rules ensure consistent evidence across all learners and support strong quality assurance practices.

User Roles

This feature can be used by:

  • Centre Managers

Where to Find Consistency Rules

  1. Click Quality in the navigation menu.
  2. Select Consistency Rules.

How Consistency Rules Work

  • The number of square boxes next to each criterion in Gap Analysis shows how many assessments are required.
  • Rules can be applied across 12 levels — from the entire Centre (level 12) down to an individual learner on a specific criterion (level 1).
  • More granular rules override broader rules.

When Rules Change

  • Updates apply automatically to affected learners.
  • An update icon appears on the learner’s portfolio while progress is recalculated.
  • Use Gap Analysis to see the updated number of required assessments.

Archived Learners

  • Consistency Rules apply to archived learners.
  • Archived learners are not recalculated when rules change.
  • If an archived learner reached 100% progress, they remain at 100% even if requirements increase.

Creating or Editing a Rule

When setting a Consistency Rule, you must:

  • Select the number of assessments required.
  • Choose the Method Rule:
    • Any – All assessment methods count.
    • Different – The same method counts only once.
    • Specified – Choose a specific assessment method that must be used.
