Once you have purchased the Data Export (database tables) add on, and the pre-built PowerBI Dashboard, a member of the team will send you a pbit file (PowerBI Template file).
Important
Please ensure you have Power BI Desktop installed on your machine and have Admin access to the workspace before following the steps below.
To load the PowerBI dashboard from the file, follow the steps below:
- Open the OnefileDashbaordExample.pbit file in Power Bi Desktop
- You will be prompted to enter the "DataExport_Server" and "DataExport_Database" details
- *These details will be provided to you a couple of working days upon purchase of the Data Export (database tables)

- Select the option to authenticate via Database
- Enter the Username and Password*
- Click Connect
Once authenticated, PowerBI will load the data from the Data Export database tables and your dashboard will be automatically populated.
In PowerBI Desktop:
- Click File
- Click Save as
- Save the PowerBI report to a safe location - the file will be saved with a .pbix extension
- On the Home option in the ribbon, click Publish
- Select the destination workspace the report should be published to (in this example, My workspace if your private workspace, the other two are organisational workspaces in the PowerBI app)

- Click Select
- Once published, the rest of the configuration will happen in the PowerBI app
To set up a scheduled refresh, in the PowerBI App (https://app.powerbi.com/):
- Navigate to the workspace you published the report to
- Locate the semantic model of for the OneFile Dashboard
- Hove over the row of the semantic model and click Schedule refresh

- Under the Refresh section, enable Configure a refresh scheduled
- Keep the Refresh frequency at Daily
- Select Add another time
- Select a time around 6am - this will pickup the latest data which will be piped into your Azure DB earlier in the morning.
- Click Apply
To provide access to a PowerBI workspace, in the PowerBI App (https://app.powerbi.com/):
- Click Manage access
- Click Add people or group
- Search for the user or group to add
- Select the drop down list to determine the type of access should be provided (e.g. "Viewer" for read-only access)

- Click Add
To share access to the PowerBI report, in the PowerBI App (https://app.powerbi.com/):
- Locate the Report in the workspace
- Hover over the report and click the Share icon

- Search for the user or group you want to share access to the report with.
