Why can't I see the option to mark an entry as off-the-job?

Overview

Learners and assessors will not see the option to mark an entry as Off‑the‑job unless a specific Centre Setting is enabled. This setting controls whether Off‑the‑job time can be recorded within Onefile Eportfolio.

User Roles

This action can be performed by:

  • Centre Manager

Centre Setting

To allow learners to record Off‑the‑job training, the following setting must be enabled:

  • Record time spent "Off‑the‑job"

Important: The Use Timesheets setting must also be enabled for Off‑the‑job recording to work.

Steps

How to Enable Off‑the‑Job Recording

  1. Click Centre in the navigation menu.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Ensure Use Timesheets is enabled.
  4. Tick Record time spent "Off‑the‑job".
  5. Click Save.

Tips & Notes

  • If the setting is disabled, learners will not see the Off‑the‑job toggle or recording option.
  • Changing Centre Settings applies to all users immediately.
  • Ensure all relevant staff members know when Off‑the‑job is enabled or disabled to maintain reporting consistency.
