Sampling Policy Overview

Overview

A Sampling Policy defines how much of an Assessor’s caseload should be sampled for quality assurance purposes in Onefile Eportfolio. It specifies the percentage of learners and units to be sampled, the assessment methods to include, and the balance between summative and interim sampling. Once created, a Sampling Policy can be assigned to an Assessor to monitor IQA compliance.

What Does a Sampling Policy Do?

A Sampling Policy allows Centres to define:

  • The percentage of an Assessor’s learners to be sampled.
  • The percentage of those learners’ units to be sampled.
  • Which assessment methods must be included.
  • The split between Summative and Interim sampling.

Once applied to an Assessor, the Compliant field will indicate whether the required amount of sampling has been planned according to the policy.

Tips & Notes

  • Sampling Policies support consistent and auditable IQA practice across the Centre.
  • Policies can be customised to meet awarding‑body or internal quality requirements.
  • Ensure Assessors understand how sampling decisions are determined.
