Overview
A Sampling Policy defines how learner work is sampled for quality assurance purposes. This feature is available to specific user roles with the appropriate permissions.
Who Can Use This Feature?
This feature can be used by the following user roles:
- Centre Manager
- Lead Internal Verifier
- Internal Verifier

Steps to Create a Sampling Policy
Navigate to Quality
- Click Quality in the navigation menu.
- Lead and Internal Verifiers can access this under Other IV Options on the homepage.
Open Sampling Policies
- Click Sampling Policies.
- Select Create new sampling policy.
Enter Policy Details
- Name: Provide a clear name for the policy.
- Assessor Sampling %: Specify the percentage of the Assessor’s learners to be sampled.
- Unit Sampling %: Specify the percentage of those learners’ units to be sampled.
Set Sampling Type
- Use the slider to define the split between Summative and Interim sampling:
- Overall Sample: Apply the Summative/Interim split across all affected learners.
- Each Learner’s Sample: Apply the split individually for each learner.
- Use the slider to define the split between Summative and Interim sampling:
Select Sampling Methods
- Choose which methods should be included in the sample.
- Decide whether methods apply to the overall sample or each learner.
Save the Policy
- Click Save to confirm and apply the new sampling policy.
