Resetting the password for another user

Overview

Users should reset their own passwords via the Password Reset page whenever possible. However, Centre Managers and Assessors can reset passwords for other users—such as Assessors or Learners—when needed.

Who Can Use This Feature?

  • Centre Manager
  • Assessor and Trainee with permissions

Permission

  • Can manage learner accounts

Steps to Reset Another User’s Password

Step 1: Navigate to Users

  • Click Users in the navigation menu.

Step 2: Locate the User

  • Find the account of the user whose password you want to reset.
  • Click Account next to their name.

Step 3: Reset the Password

  • Scroll to the Login Details section.
  • Click Reset Password.

Important Notes

  • The Reset Password button only appears if the user has previously logged in and verified their email address.
  • If the button does not appear:
    • Enter the user’s email address on the Password Reset page.
    • This sends an email from passwordreminder@onefile.co.uk.
    • The reset link expires 1 hour after being generated.

✅ Tip: Encourage users to reset their own passwords using the Password Reset page for faster resolution and improved security.
