RPL Software Update: Friday 18th July 2025

On Friday, we’ll be releasing RPL, which includes two new custom question types as well as several minor enhancements and bug fixes.

Improvements to existing features

New Date-Based Custom Questions

You can now create date-based custom questions within Skills Scans. This new input type allows applicants to select a specific date, making it easier to collect time-specific information.

New File Attachment Question Type

You can now add file attachment questions to Skills Scans. This new option enables applicants to upload documents directly within the scan, streamlining the process of gathering supporting or eligibility documentation in one place.

Increased Character Limit For Dropdown Options

We've increased the character limit for dropdown custom question options from 100 to 400 characters. This update enables you to provide more detailed and descriptive choices, helping learners better understand and select the appropriate option.

Updated Wording on Calculator Summary Page

We've updated the wording on the calculator summary page for clarity and accuracy. The text previously read "Minimum OTJ hours (calculated from above)", but has now been changed to "Minimum OTJ hours (based on DfE Spreadsheet Appendix C)". This update aligns the language with current calculation methods and improves transparency for users.

Bug fixes

Fixed Skill Scan Answer Counter Discrepancy

We've fixed an issue where the answer counter was displaying an incorrect number of responses. While submissions were still allowed, the discrepancy could cause confusion. The counter now accurately reflects the number of answers selected.

Placeholder Text Updated for Dropdown Options

We've corrected a formatting issue with the placeholder text for dropdown custom question options by adding a missing space. This change ensures consistency across all custom question types, improving the overall user experience.

These changes may not be included in this update. Any updates or changes to the planned features will be communicated in this thread.
