Eportfolio Progress Calculation

Overview

Progress in Onefile Eportfolio is calculated using completed assessments and the criteria selected within those assessments. When an assessment is fully signed by both the assessor and learner, it contributes to the learner’s progress. The amount of progress gained depends on how many criteria were covered compared to the total criteria required.

Overall Progress

The overall progress shows how much of the full framework or portfolio of learning aims has been completed.

Each coloured box represents a criterion:

  • Green – Criteria covered on an assessment
  • Red – Criteria not yet covered

Formula for calculating assessment progress:

(Number of criteria covered ÷ Total criteria in Framework) × 100

Example: (11 ÷ 40) × 100 = 27.5%

Learning Aim Progress

Progress can also be calculated for each individual learning aim assigned to the learner.

Formula:

(Number of criteria covered in Learning Aim ÷ Total criteria in Learning Aim) × 100

Example:

  • Learning Aim A: (9 ÷ 30) × 100 = 30%
  • Learning Aim B: (2 ÷ 10) × 100 = 20%

Unit Progress

Progress is also calculated for each unit within a learning aim. Units reach 100% once all criteria within them have been achieved and can then be signed off by the assessor, learner and IQA.

Formula:

(Number of criteria covered in Unit ÷ Total criteria in Unit) × 100

Example:

  • Learning Aim A
    • Unit X: (3 ÷ 15) × 100 = 20%
    • Unit Y: (3 ÷ 12) × 100 = 25%
    • Unit Z: (3 ÷ 3) × 100 = 100%
  • Learning Aim B
    • Unit V: (1 ÷ 4) × 100 = 25%
    • Unit W: (1 ÷ 6) × 100 = 17%
