Progress weightings is a feature that can be used to change how Overall and Learning Aims progress is calculated for a learner.

When this feature is disabled, progress is calculated from the total number of criteria and the number that are completed.

When enabled, you have control over how progress is calculated, by adding "weighting" numbers to a learner's learning aims and units. Setting weightings for Learning Aims changes how Overall progress is calculated. Setting weightings for Units changes how Learning Aim progress is calculated.

To set progress weightings, follow the steps below:

Learner Portfolio Framework Template

To change overall progress, add progress weightings to all of the learner's Learning Aims:

  1. Access the learner’s portfolio
  2. Click the Learning Aims tab
  3. Add a number into the Weighting field for every Learning Aim
  4. Click Save

To change learning aim progress, add progress weightings to all of the selected units for that learner's Learning Aim:

  1. Click the Units tab
  2. Add a number into the Weighting field for every Unit within a learning aim
  3. Click Save

Progress weighing's only impact actual progress unless the centre setting "Apply weightings to target progress" is enabled.
