Overview
A data conflict occurs when the online version of an assessment, plan, or review has been edited after it was synced to the Eportfolio App. When the app version is synced and changes have been made online, the system detects a conflict. Instead of automatically overriding information, you can choose which version to keep.
Usually, the user who synced the assessment, plan, or review will need to resolve the conflict. If a learner causes the conflict by syncing, they will need to resolve it.
What Happens When a Conflict Occurs?
The user who needs to resolve the conflict will receive a task notification that looks similar to this:

Steps to Resolve a Conflict
1. Open the Task
Tap the task that says Resolve Conflict.
2. Decide Which Version to Keep
- If you want to keep the online version, click Keep Online.
- If you want to keep the app version, you must first unlock the assessment on the system, then click Keep App.
3. If You Need to Keep Both Versions
Sometimes, conflicts occur because both versions represent different assessments, plans, or reviews. In this case:
- Manually create one of the versions in OneFile.
- Copy over the information from the online version.
- Then keep the app version.
ℹ️Important Notes
- Always review both versions carefully before making a decision.
- Keeping both versions requires manual intervention.
