Creating Framework Templates

  User Roles

This feature can be used by the following user roles:

  • Centre Manager
  • User Manager

Framework Templates can be created to group learning aims and standards into a template that can be assigned to learners individually or in bulk. This can be useful if you find yourself assigning the same learning aims and units to multiple learners.

To create a Framework Template follow the steps below:

  1. Click Centre in the navigation menu
  2. Click Framework Templates
  3. Click Create Framework Template
  4. Enter a Title and set the default dates for the template (You can also add the Off-The-Job and Delivery Plan information if required)

You'll now be able to select the learning aims for the Framework Template.

  1. Click Select Learning Aims
  2. Tick the checkboxes of the aims you want to link to the template
  3. Click Add
  4. Click Save
  5. Tweak the weighting or dates for the selected learning aims
  6. Click Save

You'll be taken to the Unit Selection tab, where you need to save the units you want to be automatically saved for learners when the template's assigned.

  1. Make sure the units you want to be saved are ticked
    1. Use the Override checkbox to ignore the validation, e.g. when saving mandatory units
  2. Click Save
  3. Repeat steps 1&2 for each learning aim in the framework template

Once the units have been selected, you can tweak the weightings, you will notice that the Planned Start Date and Anticipated Completion Dates reflect the same dates input earlier for the learning aims. Click Save when you’ve finished making changes.

Learning aim start dates:

The learning aim start date can be set through a framework template. This date will appear on the learning aims tab of the learners portfolio once the framework has been applied. This date is used to calculate the learners target progress.

If on the framework template you have the learning aim start date set to 0 month/weeks/days then the learning aims start date will be set as the episode start date which can be found on the episode tab on the learner portfolio.

Unit start dates:

Unit start dates are used to specify when a unit should be started by a learner, by default both the start and completion date will be pulled through by the learning aims page and will remain the same unless changed on the Units tab.
