Creating a Framework Template

Overview

Framework Templates allow you to group learning aims and standards into a reusable template that can be assigned to learners individually or in bulk. This is especially useful when you frequently assign the same learning aims and units to multiple learners.

Who Can Use This Feature?

  • Centre Manager
  • User Manager

Steps to Create a Framework Template

Step 1: Navigate to Framework Templates

  • Click Centre in the navigation menu.
  • Click Framework Templates.

Step 2: Create a New Template

  • Click Create Framework Template.
  • Enter a Title and set default dates for the template.
  • (Optional) Add Off-The-Job and Delivery Plan information.

Step 3: Select Learning Aims

  • Click Select Learning Aims.
  • Tick the checkboxes for the learning aims you want to include.
  • Click Add, then Save.
  • Adjust weightings or dates for selected learning aims if needed.
  • Click Save.

Step 4: Select Units

  • You will be taken to the Unit Selection tab.
  • Tick the units you want to include.
  • Use the Override checkbox to ignore validation (e.g., when saving mandatory units that do not meet validation rules).
  • Click Save.
  • Repeat this process for each learning aim included in the template.

Step 5: Finalise Weightings and Dates

  • Adjust weightings as required.
  • Planned Start and Anticipated Completion Dates will auto‑populate based on earlier inputs.
  • Click Save when finished.

Important Notes

Learning Aim Start Dates:

  • Set within the framework template.
  • These appear on the learner’s portfolio once the template is applied.
  • If set to 0 months/weeks/days, the start date defaults to the learner’s episode start date.

Unit Start Dates:

  • Define when a unit should begin.
  • By default, start and completion dates pull from the Learning Aims page unless changed on the Units tab.
